Why does Netvoima cost more than WordPress or Wix?
WordPress and Wix are cheap to start, but in different ways. With WordPress come the plugins, premium themes, security and backup plugins, speed optimisation... and eventually someone to manage all of it. WordPress is also an old platform from 2003, built on PHP, and its plugins are a well-known source of security holes. With these "almost free" WordPress sites, the hosting company often runs the server, but the plugins and their updates usually stay with you. They get updated if someone gets round to it. And since WordPress runs on PHP, you also have to trust that your host updates its servers in time. Wix handles its own platform updates and security. You still build and maintain the site yourself, apps cost extra, and choosing them, setting them up and their risks stay with you. A Wix site also can't be moved anywhere else: if you leave, it gets rebuilt from scratch. Our price includes the tech upfront, and you can reach a professional when you need one. Your site is always yours, and it can move anywhere. For extra work, we always tell you the price first.
Why don't you use PHP?
PHP is the programming language WordPress and many other older website platforms are built with. Serious holes have been found in PHP itself. In October 2026, two critical vulnerabilities were found that, at worst, let an attacker run their own code on the server. They affect WordPress sites too (VulnCheck, PHP2Shell). Fixes have been released, but they only help if someone installs them, and the oldest PHP versions don't get fixes at all anymore. That's one reason our sites don't use PHP. Our sites also run in separate environments behind our servers, and only what has to be visible is visible to the internet. The less that's visible, the less there is to attack.
These days you can build a website easily with AI. Why would I give you my money?
True, AI can get a site up fast if you know what you're doing. But do you know everything you need to ask it for? Search visibility, speed, working on phones, accessibility, security, forms that actually deliver messages, and a structure both Google and AI search can read. AI does what you ask, not what you forgot to ask. And it doesn't stop there. The site still has to be published somewhere, your domain pointed to the right place, a secure connection and backups set up, and someone has to make sure it all still works next year. We use AI in our own work too, which is exactly why we know what to ask of it. You get a finished site without having to learn any of this.
What does the monthly fee include?
Hosting (Helsinki), domain renewal, secure connection, 24/7 monitoring, security updates and support. Growth also includes 2 content updates a month and priority phone support. All on one invoice.
Which package fits me?
The setup is the same for every package, so the choice comes down to maintenance. If your content rarely changes and your revenue is under €300,000, Business Card is usually right. If you update your site every month or want phone support, pick Growth. Larger sites and integrations are Custom. Try the package picker or ask us.
What's included in the setup?
Your own design (3 concepts and 2 revision rounds), 1–3 pages, moving your old content, launch and the domain move. It's €890 for every package. Extra pages and extended design (+3 revision rounds, €290) cost extra.
How does billing work?
Half of the setup is invoiced when we start, the rest when the site is live. If the site waits on your texts or photos for more than 30 days, we invoice the rest then. A site in progress already runs on our servers, and the time is reserved while we wait. The monthly fee starts at launch. Annual billing gets you 10% off. Prices exclude VAT, payment term 14 days.
Can I change packages later?
Yes. You can move from Business Card to Growth any time. Only the monthly fee changes, since nothing gets built again. If you add pages or features at the same time, they're charged at list price.
What do I need to do myself?
Bring the texts and photos. They don't need to be finished, we'll help you edit and polish them. If you already have a site, we'll move over whatever still works. We handle everything technical.
How long does it take to build a site?
Usually about a week after we get your texts and photos. Design typically takes 3–5 days, build and launch about 2 days. It depends a lot on how ready your ideas and materials are. Bigger projects are agreed separately before we start.
Can I update the content myself?
Growth includes 2 content updates a month: email us what you want changed and we'll do it. On Business Card, changes are done when needed at €95/h. If you want to edit content yourself, content management is available as an add-on for Growth and Custom.
Do I own my site? What if I want to leave?
You're not locked in. Minimum contract is 3 months, then 1 month notice. When you leave, you get your site's full source code and the domain transfer key, and we point your domain to its new home for you. We can't always transfer integrations like booking or a chatbot as a whole, because they run through an outside service. The integration code does come with you, since it's part of the site's code.
What if you shut down or disappear?
Everything is in version control and documented so any developer can pick it up. You're not more dependent on me than on any professional. But unlike many freelancers, I don't disappear.
Do you handle email hosting?
No. We recommend Proton Mail, a European email service focused on security. If you need, we'll help set it up and configure your domain so your emails get delivered instead of landing in spam.
Do I need to understand the technology?
No. You need to tell us what you want your site to do. We handle the rest and explain things in plain language when needed.
What happens if the site goes down?
We get an automatic alert before you or your customers notice anything. We respond as fast as possible. You don't need to call us. We'll contact you.
Does the site work on mobile?
Yes. All sites are built mobile-first. Tested on real devices before launch.
